Screening for Plagiarism
The Journal of Airport Engineering Technology (JAET) Editorial Team acknowledges that plagiarism cannot be justified and therefore establishes a policy stating that it is a violation of the law if plagiarism is identified in articles submitted for publication in the Journal of Airport Engineering Technology (JAET)
For that, then:
Articles must be original, have never been published, and are not in the process of waiting for publication elsewhere. Material taken orally from other sources needs to be identified so that it differs from the original text.
The Journal of Airport Engineering Technology (JAET) uses a plagiarism detector using Turnitin. The plagiarism detector will check for a maximum tolerance of 20% for similarity and a minimum of 80% for uniqueness and originality.
If plagiarism is identified, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for reviewing the article and will approve action according to the level of plagiarism detected, with the following guidelines:
- Plagiarized a few short sentences from another article without citing the source. Action: The author is given a warning and a request to change the text and citations properly.
- Plagiarized most of the other articles without proper citation and did not mention the source. Action: The submitted article is rejected for publication in the Journal of Airport Engineering Technology (JAET)
All article authors are responsible for the content of the articles they submit because they all signed the Publication Ethics Declaration Form. If the article is classified as plagiarism, all authors will be subject to the same action.
If the author is proven to have submitted the manuscript to the Journal of Airport Engineering Technology (JAET) by sending it simultaneously to other journals, and this overlap is found during the reviewer process or after publication, then action is taken according to point 2 above.
If plagiarism is found outside the rules above, the editor of the Journal of Airport Engineering Technology (JAET) has the right to impose sanctions according to the editorial team's policies.
